More Open Source Images

I just found Open Stock Photography, another creative commons, open source image search site.

Why Open Stock Photography?

As of February 2006, the Wikimedia Commons, a central media archive operated by the Wikimedia Foundation, contains about 450,000* files uploaded by nearly 30,000 registered users. Each of these files is available under a free content license or in the public domain; there are no restrictions of use beyond those relating to use of official insignia. Licenses which limit commercial use are considered non-free.

All images listed at Open Stock Photography come from Wikimedia Commons and as such "can be used by anyone, for any purpose[1]"

The search function is a little slow, and it doesn't show too many images at a time, and the thumbnails don't always load, but I suspect this site will get better as more people start using it.

William,

Thanks for your comments regarding OSP. We've taken your constructive criticism to heart and have tried to:

a) Improve our search speed
b) Improve our thumbnailing

We are also working hard to implement some new "user-centric" features and advanced searching. Thanks again for your input!

Best
OSP

PS We are up to 970k of images :)
