Is it possible to replace philosophy with cognitive neuroscience and still address the fundamental questions of being that have long been the domain of philosophy?

That is what cognitive scientist Margaret Boden, philosopher of mind and language Barry C. Smith, and neurobiologist Steven Rose discuss, as they put neuroscience on trial in the video from The Institute of Art and Ideas.

From the existence of the self to the nature of free will, many philosophers have dedicated their lives to the problems of the mind.
