Neuroscientists -- Autobiographies

The Society for Neuroscience has a great site, with lots of free material - including key papers - and current news (but no RSS feed - what's up with that?).

One of the great features of their site is The History of Neuroscience in Autobiography, a five volume collection of biographies of all the main figures in the development of neuroscience. Here is the collection:

The History of Neuroscience in Autobiography

The History of Neuroscience in Autobiography is a five-volume book series, edited by Larry R. Squire, that details the lives and discoveries of eminent senior neuroscientists. To learn more about the project, overseen by SfN's Scientific Publications Committee, read the preface.

Below, SfN has provided the complete series for download (as PDFs). Browse by volume or neuroscientist.

Select autobiographies are also available for purchase (PDF) in video and DVD form.

Each volume has between ten and twelve autobiographies, each as a pdf download. If you are a fan of neuroscience, this site is a gold mine.
