Dharma Seed has a two-part talk by Mark Coleman on working with our inner critic. I find this to be one of the most challenging areas to work with because the critic is so ingrained from such a young period in our lives. Often it is the voice of a parent, so it's wrapped up in other parts of our psyche, making it even harder to uproot.
The Buddhist approach to this part is different than the Western psychological approach, but it's also a good way in to the work.
