TEDxCalTech - Sean Carroll: Distant time and the hint of a multiverse

This is the fun, mind-warping stuff . . . . Carroll's book on cosmology and the arrow of time, From Eternity to Here: The Quest for the Ultimate Theory of Time, was published in 2010. He keeps a regular blog at Cosmic Variance.

At TEDxCaltech, cosmologist Sean Carroll attacks -- in an entertaining and thought-provoking tour through the nature of time and the universe -- a deceptively simple question: Why does time exist at all? The potential answers point to a surprising view of the nature of the universe, and our place in it.

Sean Carroll is a theoretical physicist at Caltech in Pasadena, California, where he researches theoretical aspects of cosmology, field theory and gravitation -- exploring the nature of fundamental physics by studying the structure and evolution of the universe.
