Absurda - A Short Film by David Lynch

As usual with David Lynch, this is deeply weird. But I like that this is shot from the point of view of someone sitting in a theater, as though we are one step removed from the normal experience because we are seeing what someone might be seeing, rather than seeing the thing itself.

Here's a quote from an interview with Lynch in the new What Is Enlightenment?

I believe enlightened filmmaking would somehow portray the whole spectrum of human experience. It would be transcendental filmmaking. It would be the surface and every single level on down, all the way to the transcendent. It would have fullness. It would have unbelievable power, understanding. It could be a simple story, but it would be completely thrilling on all levels. Filmmaking is still pretty new -- only 110 years old! There's still a lot of potential in it.
