I was searching for a Pearl Jam cover of this song (which I didn't find), but I did find this pretty good cover of The Who's classic by (strangely enough) Limp Bizkit. I'm not a Fred Durst fan, but he does a pretty good job on this song.
This performance seems a bit contrived to me... as if Mr. Durst wants to explain to you exactly how rotten it is to be a professionally angry rockstar. He did it all for the nookie, after all.
Weirdly enough, the "Who's Next" album has an integral feel to it. Gettin' in tune to the straight and narrow. Goin' mobile is close kin to the line of escape in Deleuzian theory. &C.
