Clean Energy from Magnetic Fields?

The Good News Network posted a link to this story in the Irish Examiner:

Wanted: scientists to test free energy technology
By Louise Hogan

AN IRISH technology firm will today throw down the gauntlet to the global scientific community challenging experts to test its unique free energy technology.

Dublin-based Steorn said its technology based on the interaction of magnetic fields allows the production of clean, free and constant energy challenging fundamental scientific principles.

Sean McCarthy, chief executive of Steorn, has placed an advertisement in The Economist seeking the world’s leading scientists working in the field of experimental physics to examine the technology.

“We are under no illusions that there will be a lot of cynicism out there about our proposition, as it challenges one of the basic principles of physics,” he said.

“However, the implications of our technology go far beyond scientific curiosity: they address many urgent global needs including security of energy supply and zero emission energy production.”

The company, based in Dublin’s Docklands Innovation Park, is seeking 12 scientists to take part in a rigorous testing exercise to prove the technology creates free energy.

Steorn, which was founded in 2000, created the technology as a result of probing methods of powering CCTV cameras over three years ago.

Mr McCarthy said the company has also found a way to construct magnetic fields which allow substantive amounts of energy to be created.

Over the past two to three years, 90% of the scientists the company asked to examine the technology refused. He said the 10% who investigated drew the same conclusion as the company that it can create energy.

Mr McCarthy revealed the poor response by the scientific community had left it with no choice but to make a public appeal.

He said: “For these benefits to be achieved, we need the public validation and endorsement of the scientific community.

“We’re throwing down the gauntlet with today’s announcement — now it’s over to the scientists to ensure that the real potential and benefits of our technology can be realised.”

Mr McCarthy said the results would be published regardless of the outcome.

If this turns out to be anything real, it could be the single greatest invention in the last 100 years (maybe even more). Think about it, clean energy! No more oil wars. Once the transition is made, no more fossil fuel pollution. Now that would be cool.
