Dharma Talk: Ryushin Sensei - Transcendental Discipline
The discipline and formality of Zen training can be both an obstacle and a refuge for us, depending on how we appreciate them. In this talk, “Transcendental Discipline” Ryushin Sensei examines the role of discipline as a necessary part of our spiritual journey— just as we may seek out the discipline of a coach or trainer if we want to improve our tennis game, if we want to wake up to our true nature, we also need someone pushing us to fulfill our true potential.
Konrad Ryushin Marchaj Sensei, is a resident teacher and Vice-Abbot of Zen Mountain Monastery. This live and unedited talk, Transcendental Discipline, was recorded at Zen Mountain Monastery and selected from our 2008 audio library.
