01-19: Joan Halifax, Evan Thompson: Continuous Practice, Continuous Mind

Recorded: Wednesday Jan 19, 2011

Roshi Joan Halifax and Evan Thompson introduce the topic for the upcoming Zen Brain workshop, ‘Consciousness and the Fundamental Nature of Brain.’ Roshi Joan talks about the importance of continuous and sustained practice throughout all aspects of our lives.

Thompson uses Taoist metaphors to expand on this theme by exploring consciousness during the dream state, describing how dream and awake states are authentic and present-oriented.
