Jami and I spent the night (wish it were the weekend, but homework calls) at a friend's ranch near Benson, AZ, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It seems that where we were is just outside the Sonoran Desert, where we live in Tucson - the land and foliage is very different.
We had no TV, no internet - it was very quiet and the starry sky was amazing (no light pollution).
Here are a few images of the land from this morning. Jami took a lot of pictures, too, of which I am sure some will end up on her Facebook page.
900 sq ft straw bale house
man-made "Douglas Pond"
a clump of cacti
Maggie, our Great Dane
beautiful scenery
lots of wind-twisted trees
