Six Common Traps on the Path to Enlightenment - Shinzen Young

Hat tip to Hokai for posting this the other day. This is crucial stuff for Western Buddhists, at least those who have moved into postmodernity.

Shinzen talks about the "Map Trap", the "Fundamentalism or Mythological Trap", the "Tranquility Trap", the "Realm of Powers Trap"' the "Enlightenment Trap", and the "Observer Trap". In many of these traps people get "caught up in a good place', but can get to a better place by using the recommended antidotes. Filmed at Mt. Carmel Retreat Centre in Niagara Falls in April 2009.
