Eric Dolphy - 2:45 - Live in Berlin, 1961
When I first became a jazz fan many years, a lot of my jazz-loving friends didn't appreciate Eric Dolphy. Their loss, I guess. In my mind, Dolphy ranks up there with Coltrane for his ability to push the limits of music.
As an added bonus, here is "Take The A Train," a Duke Ellington tune, interpreted by the Charles Mingus Sextet in Oslo -- featuring Eric Dolphy on bass clarinet (the band stops playing during his solo).
