Natasha Bedingfield: Unwritten

It's not too often that I think a pop song by a pretty young blonde girl is worth mentioning, but I like this song. Not so much the sound, which is standard adult alternative, but I think the lyrics actually have a good message. In pop music, that's kind of rare.

Here is a taste:

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your innovations
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The message isn't anything profound, but when I'm driving in the 105 degree heat, and trying not to get angry with the woman in front of me who is talking on her cell phone and blocking any attempt to get around her, the song makes me feel better.

You can watch the video here.
You can see an in-store live performance here.
And you can read all of the lyrics here.
